[Haenam, South Jeolla] Delivery Story of the Farming Bao 2.0W Electric Agricultural Utility Vehicle—Becoming Haenam Mother's Reliable Extra Pair of Legs

Mother, you no longer have to carry heavy loads or walk along distant field paths.
Lohwell SM visited Haenam, South Jeolla, a village at the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula, where the fresh green energy of early summer filled the land and a cool breeze blew along the road between the wide field ridges.

Worried that their parents' aching knees and lower back made even trips to the fields increasingly difficult as they grew older, their children prepared this electric vehicle as a filial gift.

We understood their heartfelt wish for their mother in the countryside to travel safely and comfortably, so we arrived at the Haenam site with the same feeling as visiting our own parents.

An Exciting Arrival and Safe Unloading

The star of the delivery, which arrived on a freight truck, was the blue Farming Bao 2.0W model.

After securely fixing the ramp in place, we carefully drove the vehicle down in front of the yard.
Hearing the truck, Mother came out into the yard. When she saw the real Farming Bao, she said,

It looks much prettier in colour and sturdier than it did in the photos!

She welcomed us with a bright smile.

She was delighted as she looked over the roof (canopy) and front windshield, designed to withstand both strong sunlight and rain, as well as the wide tyres that provide a stable ride even on dirt paths between the fields.

Take it slowly.

One-to-One, Personalised Driving Instruction

No matter how good an electric vehicle is, it only truly does its job when an older person can ride it comfortably on their own.

Sitting comfortably beside Mother in the driver's seat, we explained everything carefully, step by step.

Mother, first insert the key and start the vehicle. Then slowly release the side brake.

Let's start by reversing slowly.
Yes, the brake! You did very well!

Now shift into forward gear and move forward gently. When you want to stop, press the foot brake.

Finally, shift into neutral, turn off the vehicle, and be sure to engage the side brake. Then you're all done!

We helped her practise repeatedly, from shifting gears and getting a feel for the accelerator to finding the brake pedal and engaging the essential side brake whenever she stopped.

At first, Mother gripped the steering wheel tightly, appearing slightly nervous. But after trying it herself two or three times, she quickly got the hang of it and drove comfortably.

A Test Drive on the Farm Road Along the Field Ridge—The Family Finally Feels Reassured

After learning the simple controls, she took the vehicle out for a real test drive along the gently sloping path leading from the paved farm road in front of the yard to the field ridge.

Thanks to the wide tires that reduce shaking even on unpaved farm roads and dirt paths during the busy farming season, she drove steadily throughout the journey without any jolting.
As she rode in the quiet yet powerful electric vehicle, her mother said,

“It’s nice that it’s quiet without making much noise, and the steering wheel is smooth, so it’s really easy to handle.”
She praised it repeatedly.

Her father and other family members, who had been watching the training from a short distance away, felt relieved as they watched her drive safely and even park the vehicle.
Every time I see the bright smiles on the family members’ faces, I feel rewarded for being there in the field.

Wishing Mother a Safe and Healthy Daily Life
Mother, please do not push yourself to go out to work on days when the weather is bad, and always slow down and drive safely when you are going out and returning home.
If you ever have even the slightest question or inconvenience while riding, please contact us at any time. We will come to see you with the care we would show our own family.

We hope Farming Bao, which has newly become your mother’s dependable means of getting around, will be a comfortable companion every time she goes to work in the fields or visits a neighbour. We wish her continued good health.
