“How am I supposed to ride something like this?”—Mother’s surprising yard-driving debut! FARMING BOY 2.0A Test Drive
We visited a mother’s home in Haenam, South Jeolla, a village at the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula where broad fields meet the sea.
After supporting her family through years of farm work, the mother had developed aches throughout her back and legs. She had been carrying heavy fertiliser and crops every day with a handcart.
To make things a little easier for her, we loaded up the sturdy and safe Korean-made multipurpose electric utility vehicle, FARMING BOY 2.0A, and drove over.
1. Arriving in Haenam at the Village at the Southern Tip, Half Excited and Half Worried for the First Meeting
As we unloaded the blue FARMING BOY 2.0A from the truck, the mother approached and said her first words.
“Oh my, I’m getting on in years—how am I supposed to ride a machine like this?”
She hesitated, slightly intimidated by the unfamiliar utility vehicle. Understanding these concerns among older adults, Lohwell SM began providing patient one-on-one guidance until she became comfortable with it.
2. A Surprising Yard Drive with Just One Button and No Complicated Gears
“Mother, just click to release the brake, then slowly and gently pull the handle.”
The mother took hold of the steering wheel, released the parking brake as instructed, and gently pulled the handle.
It moved using the forward/reverse buttons and speed lever, without complicated clutches or gear changes, and her initial tension soon disappeared.
After smoothly driving around the yard once, then twice, her expression soon brightened.
“Oh, it’s much easier and more comfortable than I expected!”
she exclaimed.
3. Even the Yard Dog Trotted Along—An Eco-Friendly Electric Vehicle Without Exhaust or Noise
As the mother leisurely drove around the yard, the dog there was not afraid of the vehicle and trotted along behind it.
That is because it produces none of the loud engine noise or exhaust typical of conventional cultivators and engine-powered utility vehicles.
Thanks to its quiet electric motor, it can also be driven cleanly through village lanes without disturbing neighbours with noise.
4. FARMING BOY 2.0A’s Key Features for Farm Work and Trips Around Haenam
■ Peace of Mind in Every Season: Integrated Canopy Roof and Front Windshield
It blocks the hot summer sun, chilly autumn winds and sudden showers, allowing you to go out without worrying about the weather.
■ Sturdy cargo bed carrying up to 200 kg
It can carry up to 200 kg of heavy fertiliser bags and boxes of harvested crops, reducing the strain of transporting loads by handcart.
■ Convenient household 220V charging without fuel costs
There is no need to visit a petrol station—simply plug the dedicated charging cable into a 220V outlet in your yard or storage area, and charging will be complete.
